About the Rural School and Community Trust

Where We Work

We work in rural communities and small towns across America, but especially in those rural places stressed by historical patterns of poverty and racism, declines in population, major changes in population composition, and fundamental economic change.

We have built relationships with teachers, administrators, students and community members in rural places that represent the diversity of rural America. These include Native American, Latino, African American and Anglo communities; affluent and low-income communities; beautiful places attracting tourists and second homebuyers, places where people are being forced to leave, and places to which immigrants are moving to find this generation's American Dream.

We will continue our commitment to diversity.
