Annenberg Challenge Concludes
 On June 12, 2002, Rural School and Community Trust president Rachel Tompkins was one of three featured speakers in a press conference announcing the formal conclusion of the Annenberg Challenge and the release of the Annenberg Foundation's summary "Lessons and Reflections" report. The $50 million challenge grant to the Rural Challenge (the Trust's predecessor organization) helped more than 700 schools in 35 states implement place-based education programs in their communities.
