Programs, Training and Consulting Resources for Schools and Communities  You know that improving education in your community is a task that must extend beyond the walls of the school building. The Rural Trust can help you gain the skills you need to make it happen. We believe that students are a tremendous resource -- young citizens who are able to contribute meaningfully to their communities as they learn. At the same time, we believe that community people can be powerful teachers, bringing wisdom, perspective, and unique educational resources to student learning. We can help you build school-community connections that support student learning at the same time they renew and strengthen your community. When learning is linked to community concerns -- the unique history, environment, culture, and economy of a particular place -- schools and communities get better together. We call it "place-based" learning.
