Why Rural Matters in New Hampshire

The Granite State ranks high in the percentage of people, students, and schools in rural communities, but ranks above the median on only two Urgency indicators: the average number of rural students per grade and use of computers in the classroom. With high per capita income and low poverty rates in rural communities, and above-average rural teacher salaries that are close to the salaries of other New Hampshire teachers, the state's rural schools are on relatively solid ground.
